“Walnut Lounge BIO” by Patricia Urquiola

Nuez Lounge BIO is an armchair designed by Patricia Urquiola for Andreu World that is a world first, as its exterior is one hundred percent recyclable, biodegradable and compostable. In addition, the interior is upholstered with an innovative circular fabric made with plastic from PET bottles and textile waste. Its foam is also entirely recycled and recyclable, and the packaging does not use glue, so it can be reupholstered to prolong its useful life. The piece will be exhibited on the Serranos Bridge during the World Design Street Festival.

It is a piece that maintains an enveloping character and has a high back that enhances its representative image, thus showing the technological complexity of the casing. Aimed at active waiting spaces such as lobbies, collaborative areas or relaxation spaces, it is available in four elegant colours: sand, basalt grey, terracotta brown and black, a more evolved range compared to the traditional tones that characterize recyclable plastics.
